New Car

After much debate, we finally decided to get a new car. Shawn thought it would be the perfect Father's day gift. He often complains that his birthday is forgotten since he and Ashlin share a birthday. I try and make Father's Day a big day for him . This year he definitely can't complain he was forgotten. We rented a Chrysler Aspen for our trip to Arizona and loved it. There was a great deal on one here and Conway. We went and looked at it on Saturday. They let us bring it home that night to help sway our decision. We had pretty much decided to get it. Once again, Shawn's love of the internet changed our decision of having a nice room SUV to saving the environment and being nice and cozy in a Toyota Prius! Monday we went to the Toyota car dealer. They had cars marked down for hail damage (remember our fence). In addition, the 2009 cars had a $1500 rebate. Our salesman (who was brand new) did not realize the sticker price included both of these markdowns. So, we were able to get the car a bit cheaper which is unheard of with a Prius. Of course, it did take Shawn all day to convince them. I was ready to kill him by the end of the day! After much debate, haggling, and prayer we did it we joined the green crowd and bought our first hybrid!

The kids were very excited at first. Although, Jaxon wanted the big car. He liked to sit in the back by himself. As we started cleaning out the car Ashlin had a change of heart. She decided she wanted to keep our car. She sobbed and sobbed. I was surprised by the intensity of her emotions. On our way home, she kept bad car I don't like you. She went to bed upset. Shawn had a long talk with her and she decided that she would give the new car a chance. We named her Jazz after the transformer. This helped smooth the transition!
