Our time in California was short but was packed full of fun and with many treasured memories. Saturday, we got to spend time in the sun (and only 70 degree temperature) at the cousin's swim meet. After cheering them on with their great performances we had lunch at Soup Plantation and ate and ate and ate and ate. That is one place we really miss! We celebrated Allison's birthday (Heather, Shawn's oldest sister's daughter). We followed this up with her baptism. It was a beautiful baptism and we are so very proud of her decision and her example. We had lots of cookie cake afterwards. We were able to sneak out and see Harry Potter! Absolutely loved it and can't wait to see it again!
Sunday, we went to church with Shawn's other sister (Rebecca) and was able to be there for her baby's blessing. We made a mad dash to Heather's ward where they would recognize Allison for her baptism. We got to enjoy 2 sacrament meetings in California. It's nice to see that wherever you go the church is the same. The rest of the day was family time spent at the pool and eating yummy food. The cousin's had a special performance "The Nana Concert" to show off their many talents that night.
Monday, we played at a Jumpzone place and had a delicious lunch at Rattler's (another place we miss). Afterwards, we had to rush off to the airport.
Once again, the visit was short but it was definitely worth it and filled with quality time. The cousins spent hours and hours of making precious memories. The trio snuggled their baby cousin as often as they could. It was hard to tear away the baby from the adults. Of course, the siblings enjoyed being together. Nana & Papa would say having the whole family together is priceless (and I think we would all agree!). My only disappointment is that I forgot to take my camera for the baptism. Hopefully, someone will share their photo's with me (HINT HINT)! Our next fun filled adventure with the Charlton clan will be in Florida in January and we can't wait!
