A not so restful nap time

Ashlin shares a preschool class with her friend Elizabeth from church.  On Wednesday, Michelle (Elizabeth's mom) brought her home after school.  She hears the 2 girls plotting a  plan in the back seat.
For this plan you need to know that each day, they get a note reporting their behavior during nap time. They get a sticker if either they took a nap or rested quietly.  It's a big deal for them.  Apparently, these girls had been quite wiggly and did not rest quietly.  So, in the back they were saying we just won't show our mom our note.......she won't know we didn't get a sticker........ and then she won't know we were bad.  (One day, I will have to tell her to plot away from listening ears!)
Michelle called me and told me about their conversation.  Later on in the evening....

MOM:   "Ashlin, where is your note today?  Did you get a sticker?"
Ashlin:  "I can't tell you!"
Mom:  "Why can't you tell me?
Ashlin:  "Mom, I was bad"  Elizabeth and I played during nap time and kept changing sides"

Of course, I replied with the utmost motherly concern and told her of the importance of resting quietly during nap time.  In addition, It's important to always listen to your teacher and follow her directions....so on an so forth.

They had a field trip earlier in the day.  I am sure all of the kids were a bit wound up.  If these 2 little girls are already scheming at 4 years old what are we going to do with them when they get older?

Here is the up side...at least when you asked she told you the truth. I always give my kids some points for that...and it helps me to see the positive in the situation...good luck!
