We are very lucky to have Shawn's dad (Papa) visiting us this week. Shawn has been working very long hours writing, writing, and more writing. So, we are very glad to have Papa around to keep us company. The kids and Shawn picked Wednesday evening. The kids have been looking forward to this for sometime. Wednesday, they were bouncing around with anticipation. Thursday, we just enjoyed a nice day at home. Friday, Papa took Ashlin on date. She had it all planned out. They went to Chile's and he then took her to Target and let her pick out a couple of girl necessities, (e.g, neclace, sunglasses). Saturday, we braved the over stimulating environment of Chuck E. Cheese's and took the kids. They had such a great time. They ran around, played, and ate lots of pizza. Overall, not a bad trip. The aftermath of missing naptime a different story. We were so happy to have Papa at church. He was gracious enough to speak in Primary for me during closing exercises. He did a great job! Tomorrow, we are going to try and make a trip to the zoo weather permitting.
Ashlin lost her second tooth on Saturday. She was every bit as excited as when she lost the first one. I was able to keep track of the tooth this time but......I forgot to put it away after the tooth fairy came to visit. Ashlin found the tooth and said Mom, "Flossie didn't take the tooth." I sat there with my mouth open for a minute and then said, "I asked Flossie if I could keep this tooth this one time for a keepsake. I am a little sad my baby is growing up so fast." Ashlin thought Flossie was so sweet to let me keep that tooth!
Sigh....I can't believe how fast they are growing up!
