Unlisted here we come!

Tonight, I had an unpleasant surprise when I picked up the phone.  It was one of my general psychology students.  This student wanted to meet with me because I have been impossible to catch all semester.  Keep in mind this person has numerous absences and when they decided to show up it was midway through the class.  I asked them why they had not emailed me.  This student replied that they did not how to email and did not know that one should check it regularly.  I told them I had asked them to see me after class in an email.  They said they never got it.  You must keep in mind I can pull up emails that I send and if it is sent to their school account and I can see if it has been open.  Yes, it had been.  This person told me they had sent me an email today and I had not responded.  I asked when they had sent it and they asked when did you check your email last I said around 5....well, that's when I sent.  I proceeded to check my email and it was sent at 5:41.  

Here's their message:  I left a message with your secretary. I've been very sick and in the 

hospital even.  I really need to meet with you.   I've tired 

the chat thing countless times and it never works. I can never catch 

you in your office. 

UCA student health, as you may know, does not give excuse papers. they  

make that very clear. But they gave me one and i didn't ask for it. The 

doctor ordered me not to be social and definitely no school or work. 

I'm much better now though, so you're safe:)

This person continued to give excuse after excuse.  They asked if I taught the class in the summer because they needed to retake it and thankfully I could say no!
