Missing Utah!

Once again, I have found myself to busy or maybe just distracted to keep up with the blog. It is amazing how we let little things like life get in the way of other things like bloggging. ☺

On June 27th, we let our friends, Parkers, rope us into driving up to Hot Springs. We spent a day at Crystal Falls/ Magic Springs. We had a great time. Crystal Falls had a 2 foot kids pool. The kids including Jeron could get in and out. There was small water slides which Ashlin loved and Jaxon braved a few times. We even mangaged to all float the version of the lazy river. I successfully managed to keep sunscreen on all of us. The only sunburn our family got was on my legs. The best part the park offered free soda. It’s a dream come true. After we were wrinkled from being in the water all day, we wandered over to the Magic Springs side. Jaxon was ¼ inch to short to ride any of the rides. He was devastated. We ended up riding the carousel more times than I care to count. Eventually, we found one ride they would let him on. Next time we go we will put on his cowboy boots and it will be no problem. Ashlin rode a few rides and really enjoyed herself. That night we all went to dinner (4 adults with 7 kids quite a group) to a nice restaurant in the area. The food was good, but they were incredible slow! We decided to drive back home and left the Parker’s cozy in their hotel room.

The next week Shawn finished up his summer classes, I battled a cold, and the children were as busy as ever. Since I was a bit under the weather we missed our 4th of July party and just had a nice quiet dinner with the O’hara’s. By the way…..
Happy 4th of July!

Shawn has been up at school every day this week around 6:30 and stays late. He has been busy writing, writing, and more writing. He is trying to catch up from all the work he missed in May when we were taking care of the house.

We have been a bit sad this week. We had planned to spend the month of July in Utah with family and friends, but after much debate we decided to stay here in Arkansas. Our home ate to much of our money and time this summer for luxuries. So, for all you visiting Utah and have been putting your pictures on your blog it has been bittersweet. We are so happy for you, but a little sad for us…..enjoy it a little more for us.

I feel your pain. I was planning on leaving for Idaho for a few weeks this month and never got to go either. Boo Hoo. Sorry you have to feel sad too.
