Jeron's Preschool Graduation

 Waiting patiently in line!
Waiting for the ceremony to begin
 I pledge allegiance!
 Our sweet family!
 My Baby & Me!
 Amy, Monkey, & Jeron!
Jeron's preschool graduation was last Thursday evening.  It was a bittersweet moment!  He was so excited!  There theme was what do you want to be when you grow up.  Despite the fact, he really wants to be a warrior when he grows up he settled for a veterinarian.  Since he really loves animals it was the next best thing.  He looked absolutely adorable.  I told him that I didn't want him to grow up.  I wanted him to stay my baby forever.  He replied, "Mom that's not going to happen, it's kindergarten or bust."

Spring 2012 Thundering Trio Pix

The trio's spring 2012 pictures turned out absolutely adorable! There was only 1 huge problem with the pictures. They made the trio look so grown up. I have been a little....not sure the word....so we'll go with sad....in regards to how fast the trio is growing up. It' an amazing job being a parent but I didn't realize how fast the time goes. I have been trying really hard recently to take time and smell the roses. In other words make sure that I take time to capture the little moments with them.
Ashlin has had a fantastic year in 2nd grade!  She has excelled at her school work once again this year.  She continues to love to read, write, dance, play piano, and most recently to research.  She has a History book she checked out from the library and she will find a subject that captures her attention and then proceed write a report on this topic.  Our home is filled with her writing, art creations, and her lessons.  She plans our family home evening each week.  She is counting down the days until her baptism on July 3rd.  She is very excited to move forward in following Christ!
After a rocky beginning.........Jaxon had a great year in kindergarten.  His teacher was amazing and we are so grateful that she was so attentive to his needs.  He has made many new friends this year.  He is above average on all of his school work.  He began piano this year and is doing really well.  He loves to play Old MacDonald had a farm for me.  He loves to carry his church bag with his scriptures to church.  He is an amazing reader and is starting to really enjoy chapter books.  He is still as active as ever.  The only time his body is still is when he is sleeping!  ;)

Jeron had a fun year at preschool.  He had a great teacher and learned a ton.  Jeron continues to be laid back and just enjoys life.  His goal is to be the funniest kid in class.  His teacher would always comment that he always had a big smile on his face.  I would tell her that is exactly how he wakes up.  Each morning he greets me with a smile and is ready for the fun to begin.  He is active much like Jaxon.  Jeron & Jax could spend all day wrestling....that is until one of them accidentally gets hurts.  ;)

The trio bring much joy and happiness into our lives.  I am so grateful for the blessing they are to me and the honor it is to be their mother!

SWPA 2012

Every year in April, Shawn abandons us to go to SWPA (a psychology conference). This year we decided to tag along. We enjoyed 2 fun filled days in Oklahoma City. We spent one day at the zoo and another at the science museum. We even dodged a tornado. We had a great time. The only disappointment in the trip was how short it was. We had to rush back and I had hoped to get together with some from friends from college. Next Time!

Easter 2012

Once again, I find myself quite delayed in updating our blog with our many adventures.  Although, blogger's new features might help with my shortcomings.
We had a wonderful Easter!  We woke up bright and early (but not to early) where they could see their Easter treasures.  We had a nice relaxing morning at home before church.
Ashlin gave a beautiful talk in primary that helped remind me of the importance of Easter and the beautiful gift Christ gave us, the atonement.  I am so thankful for her sweet testimony and the spirit she brings into our home.
We went to our friends house for dinner.  We were so grateful to spend time with them.  It seems like we are always on the go which leaves us little time for a social life.  It truly was refreshing to sit back, relax, and enjoy the beauty of friendship!
 Easter Morning Treasures!
Jeron also had a visit from the tooth fairy.
 He lost his first tooth!
My little boy is growing up!  ;(
Talking to her Favorite Aunt on the phone!
 Happy Easter!

Little Rocker's Marathon

Yesterday Ashlin participated in the Little Rocker's marathon. The children run 25.2 miles on their own and then come together to run that last mile. Ashlin & Shawn have been running all month and yesterday was a wonderful way to celebrate her (and dad's) hard work. She was very proud of her self and the accomplishment she completed. The day was not without a bit of drama. Friday evening we went to look for final instructions and realized that you had to pick up your packet that day. We were absolutely sick. We talked to Ashlin and told her that she might not be able to run due to our mistake. She was so sweet about it! We got their early it was an absoute mad house. People everywhere! We talked to a couple of people and they would point us to a new direction. We happened to run into our friend Janae and she asked how we were doing..... I broke down very overwhelmed. Running into Janae in the midst of thousands of people was an answer to a prayer. She knew one of the people organizing the marathon. He directed us to the right people in order to pick up her packet where she could run. Thank you so very much Janae!! She ran her last mile with new friends she made. She loved it. Her time was a bit slower but she was enjoying he crowd cheering her on! Way to go Ashlin. We are so proud of you and look forward to cheering you & Jaxon on next year!

In the Little Rockers marathon kids ages 7-12 ran. They had each group separated. They staggered the groups by 5 minutes or so to help pace the runners. Since she was the youngest. She would keep moving up as the next group began their run. Each new move I would elbow my way up and yell until I could get her attention and let her know I was there and give her words of encouragement. As I was trying to get her attention I would think to myself, "Ashlin look over I am right here. I wanted her to know that I was there supporting her." After a couple of times I began to ponder this must be how Christ feels at times with us. We are competing the race of life and he is right there calling our name to let us know that he is following us and cheering us on. It is my hope that we will all listen for His cheering and feel comforted that we are never alone.
