Just kidding .....

My last post I mentioned I was going to be so much better at writing with the blog/journal. Hmmm.....what happened?!? Not sure! There definitely never a dull moment here. I find myself at the end of the day thinking I really need to write something and then I say I will do it tomorrow night I am to tired to do it tonight! The next night I say the same thing! The great things about humans we are great at making excuses!
Jaxon wrapped his preschool year up at UCA Child Study Center. He absolutely loved preschool, made great friends, and learned so many exciting things. He is looking forward to next year. He has recovered from the loss of preschool because he is now allowed to sleep in (typically 8:30). The boy loves to sleep in. I can't even imagine what he will be like when he hits his teenage years. He has been quite the helper. He likes to help me mop and sweep. Wish it would rub off on picking up his toys!

Jeron and I finally did battle this week. Monday, I put my foot down and said you are a big boy and we are done with diapers. This week we were able to dedicate our full energy into helping Jeron learn the joy of using the toilet. He has pleasantly surprised us with how quickly he caught on (at least with urine anyway). He puts his big boy underwear on backwards where he can see the characters. No big deal right....the front side is smaller so he walks around with one cheek hanging out. Definitely a site to see! We are proud of how well he is doing! It's weird to think we are done with diapers. We have been changing one of the trio's diapers 1 month shy of 6 years. Just in case you were wondering if we were done having kids......the answer is yes....we are done with diapers. :)

Ashlin still has a few more weeks of school left. I can't believe soon she will be finished with her kindergarten year. It seems like just yesterday she was a tiny baby. I was not prepared for the change that happens during this year. She went from mom's little girl to this individual filled with new knowledge, opinions. and more than a little sass. I am so grateful that she continues to be a sweet and loving girl! I could rave on and and on about how smart she is but I will spare you the maternal pride. She began piano a month ago. She is doing great. She is eager to learn and willing to practice daily. She loves to show off her skills. This has been great bonding time for her and Shawn (Shawn can play right handed). Jaxon loves to practice after Ashlin so he is learning from his big sister. This morning Jeron & Ashlin were the first to wake up (big surprise right).....Ashlin taking on her big sister role put Jeron on the potty and he went. I was amazed by her initiative and her thoughtfulness. I truly am blessed with the best kids ever!

Shawn & I wrapped up the spring semester! He had the opportunity to work with some great students which led to quite a productive year. He is more than a little nervous for next year not knowing the quality of students he will have working in his lab. We have a busy summer ahead of us. We have a conference in 2 weeks in San Antonio. Shawn teaches classes the first summer session and then it will be my turn. Summer is definitely more relaxed than the traditional school year which is always nice. Over the last few weeks we have been able to spend time with friends for dinners and family home evening. I forgot out how nice it is just to kick back and relax with your friends. It was much needed I was definitely feeling a little out of sync with life! Here's to a great summer with many blogging moments for not only my family but my friends and family!
