Christmas Gifts From Ashlin

Ashlin's school has a holiday store open this week called the Penguin Patch. The students have the opportunity to purchase Christmas gifts for their family. Yesterday was Ashlin's classes day to go shopping. She was so excited when she got home and wanted to wrap her gifts immediately. She got a gift for each of us. She chose a Dad Christmas ornament for Shawn so he opened his last night. She wanted to put it on the Christmas tree. She wanted me to open my gift last night and I told her no I wanted to wait so she kept giving me hints. "Mom it's something pretty." Mom, it's something you wear." "Mom, it's something you wear on your finger." "Mom, it's something you get when your married." She was so adorable!
Later I was telling Shawn how cute her hints were and he told me the reason she picked out a ring for me. She remember last year when my wedding ring broke in half and I was very sad. She wanted to make sure I had a back up in case my ring broke again because she did not want me to be sad. She is absolutely amazing! I can't believe she would remember that from a year ago. I am in awe of the love that she has and the thought that she put into the gift she chose! And not only for me but for each of us. I truly feel so blessed that Heavenly Father chose me to be her Mother. She definitely is a choice spirit!
